Rather than maintaining a static layout across the two double-page spreads, the pages become increasingly crushed, compressed, and saturated as the reader moves forward. This intentional graphic breakdown directly mirrors the mounting destruction left by Hurricane Jeanne over time. As the chronological data and narrative progress, the whitespace shrinks, the text elements collide, and the layout undergoes a visual "erosion"—transforming rigid editorial design into a raw, chaotic representation of a natural disaster.
